FACILITIES ENGINEER/HT CHARGEMAN (B0 to 11kV) [Job Code 1905182B]

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the electrical facilities of the data centre buildings to ensure best-in-class operations.

A. Critical Operation

  • Plan and execute scheduled and unscheduled up-keep and maintenance based on manufacturer standard and maintenance best practices for process and quality on CPI and NCPI to mitigate system failure at any point of time.
  • Incident Management Process Flow
    • Pre-incident management
      1. Develop contingency and incident management plans before any implementing action plans, including risk assessment developed by HT charge man.
      2. Kick off and implement the incident management plans.
    • Post-incident / Maintenance
      1. Conduct root cause analysis – cause of repetitive system faults or failures.
      2. Suggest corrective measures and coordinate with the relevant departments if necessary, to rectify related issues to prevent recurrence.
    • Compliance to relevant local legislations
      1. Ensure that the CPI systems are in compliance with building and safety laws and regulations.
      2. Ensure that all maintenance work is carried out in accordance with building and safety laws and regulations.
      3. Provide advice to the Emergency Response Team as and when required.
      4. Ensure the civil and structural facilities to the CPI system are in clean, safe and optimum operating condition.
      5. Ensure all the LV charge man competency certifications are registered with Energy Commission on timely basis.
    • Training, staff development and self-internal audit
      1. Develop practical tests standard related to meeting operation needs that is set by HT charge man and Company’s management.
      2. Conduct practical training as part of continuous improvement for all LV charge men.
      3. Conduct periodic and random sampling together with HT charge man on all maintenance works and checklist performed by team members, in ensuring that the operations meet with the quality standards set by Company Group.

B. Service Level Agreement (SLA) and Contract Administration

  • Understand all applicable contractual SLA commitments for each tenant.
  • Ensure that the CPI system and other relevant SLA parameters are fully complied with.
  • Recommend remedial action in a timely manner if SLA compliance is threatened or compromised.
  • Build and maintain cordial working relationship with all tenants/clients.

C. Method Operating Procedures MOP, Emergency Operating Procedures (EOP), Process Flow, Filing and Documentation

  • Establish MO and EOP and process flow in order to meet safety requirement, local requirement and improve operation efficiency. Review and improve all MOPs and EOPs on quarterly basis. Example: SOP for power shut down and normalize procedures for all mechanical and electrical facilities in line with Electricity Supply Act 1990.
  • Conduct building survey on quarterly basis to ensure that all drawings related to the CPI and NCPI systems are up-to-date and tally with the actual site installations.
  • Understand, comprehend and provide input to other departments on CPI system capacity, capability and scalability of the floor, plant and existing tenants’ capacity on monthly basis.
  • Ensure that relevant reports are submitted regularly and on time to the relevant authorities and/or higher management;
  • Ensure that departmental documents are filed and kept up to date.
  • Prepare yearly maintenance budget i.e. CAPEX and OPEX.
  • Prepare yearly maintenance program for all the facilities for higher management’s approval.
  • Back up as a single point of contact (SPOC) between Critical Operation and Critical Monitoring Team on all active and closed cases.

D. Utilities and Energy Efficiency Management

  • Monitor on daily basis usage of utilities and plant maximum demand and highlight to higher management of any unusual situations that are submitted by facilities team members.
  • Protect the environment and save cost by keeping energy wastage to a minimum within the CPI system.
  • Review energy report on monthly basis and recommend ways for better efficiency and cost-savings to the CPI system.

E. Technical Consultation and Support for Data Centre Tenant Fit Out and Building Infrastructure

  • Provide CPI and NCPI systems technical advice to other departments as and when required.
  • Provide CPI and NCPI systems technical and operational solution and support to the Account Delivery Managers of Company Group in fulfilling the SLA;
  • Provide input, including budgetary costing information, to the sales team as and when required.

F. Other Duties

  • Coordinate and monitor mechanical and electrical sub-contract workers as and when required within the CPI and NCPI system.
  • Assist new tenants in understanding the CPI system, rules, regulations and procedures of the CPI and NCPI system related to tenancy.
  • Ensure that tenants are kept informed – where relevant – on incidents, updates and changes in CPI and NCPI systems and facilities.
  • Respond to enquiries and complaints from tenants in a timely manner.
  • Any other duties which may be assigned by the Company from time to time.
  • Back up charge man for company data centre sites which will be on pool rotation by weekly basis.
