EHS OFFICER/MANAGER (PROJECT & CONSTRUCTION) [Job Code 2006251B]

Responsibilities:

  • Promote and encourage the culture of working safely (HSE) and setting a positive example for all personnel on site.
  • Ensure daily site HSE inspections of site activities are carried out and recorded. This is to identify any unsafe conditions or unsafe work practices and recommend/implement reasonably practicable measures to correct the situation.
  • Report on HSE matters to the Company Head of Projects in Malaysia including preparation of incident and loss statistics and a weekly summary reports.
  • Participate in the daily and weekly HSE and Project meetings.
  • Maintain the project library of safety legislation, standards and codes of practice. Ensure compliance of operations with all local statutory legal legislations.
  • Ensure all safety plans, safety statements, safety records/reports are filed adequality on site and on the Company shared drive.
  • Attend the safety orientations hosted by the contractors and ensure the daily tool box meeting meets expectations.
  • Participate in project risk assessments and preparation of risk control documents (as required).
  • Review and oversee risk assessments for project – at all times the HSE Manager is to inform all contractors to maintain high level of safety and housekeeping at site.
  • Weekly audit of the medical and emergency response facilities.
  • Review the contractors’ weekly HSE reports and provide comments and corrective actions as required.
  • Conduct weekly audits of the site’s visitor management process/and ensure all is following the contractors site rules.
  • Any other duties as may be required by the Company.

Requirements:

  • Candidate must possess at least minimum Professional Diploma.
  • Professional Certificate in Safety and Health Competence Course approved by DOSH.
  • A registered Safety & Health Officer with DOSH/NIOSH/JKKP.
  • Familiar with FMA 1967, OSHA 1994, and other related OSH legislation will be added advantage.
  • Well versed in ISO 9001, ISO 13485, ISO 45001, FDA Standard and OHSAS 18001 with certifications from regulating bodies.
  • Based at project site.
  • At least 10 year(s) of working experience in the related field is required.
