ASSISTANT MANAGER, FACILITY [Job Code 2602103A]

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee maintenance and repair of all building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire safety) and critical systems.
  • Design, install and update systems that are energy-saving and cost-effective to optimize system performance and meet facility needs.
  • Lead troubleshooting efforts for major equipment failures or technical issues in building systems.
  • Ensure compliance of engineering systems with relevant local, state, and federal safety regulations, building codes, and environmental standards.
  • Participate in risk assessments, ensure regular testing and inspections of safety systems, and implement mitigation strategies to prevent equipment breakdowns or hazards.
  • Lead engineering-related facility improvement projects, including renovations, new installations, or expansions of building systems.
  • Develop cost-effective budgeting of materials, tools and services for engineering operations, including maintenance, upgrades, and replacements of systems.
  • Assist in training and mentoring junior engineers, technicians, and facility staff on new systems and best practices.
  • Oversee the selection and management of external contractors or vendors who provide specialized engineering services, ensuring quality standards and safety are met.
  • Prepare frequent and timely reports on system performance, maintenance activities, energy usage, and budget expenditures.

Requirements:

  • Degree/Diploma with at least 5 years of experience in facilities management / engineering, preferably in data centre or critical environment.
  • Strong understanding of large-scale M&E facility infrastructure system and high level of accuracy and attention to detail in maintaining facility systems and documentation.
  • Proficiency in interpreting engineering drawings and technical manuals, and handling preventive maintenance software and troubleshooting tools.
  • Certification in workplace safety (eg. WSQ, WSH) preferred.
  • Positive proactive attitude and ethical behaviour.
  • Good leadership and team player with ability to work independently and resolve challenges in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, collaborative and people management skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
