SAFETY OFFICER (KL/JB) [Job Code 2403105A]
Responsibilities:
- Advise and ensure site team meets statutory safety requirements and comply with local authorities
- Develop and implement safety management system, procedures, and guidelines.
- Identify workplace safety, health and environmental risk, and recommend necessary control measures
- Investigate the construction site to ascertain equipment and material processes do not pose a safety or health hazard to anyone including employees, clients, contractors and the general public
- Conduct and review risk assessment and impact analysis, assist in incident and accident investigations, and recommend safety measures & processes to minimize incidents/accidents and improve workplace safety
- Submit reports required by the Company and local country authorities
- Review and identify safety competency training for site team including employees and contractors
- Liaise with the relevant authorities pertaining to safety and health matters, in compliance with authorities
- Liaise and report to corporate EHS team to ensure alignment with overall safety protocols and requirements
Requirements:
- Relevant certification in WSH/Safety with at least 5 years of working experience in Workplace Safety and Health
- Familiar with WSH/Safety local country statutory requirements and compliance
- Experience in Microsoft Office i.e. Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Operational experience in construction preferred
- Must have good interpersonal and communication skills
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines
